We will discuss with you the cost of your treatment and each of the available payment options – including what insurance benefits are available to you –  before you begin, so that you can make the best choice for you.

How Does Orthodontic Insurance Typically Work?

At GoaLine Orthodontics, we strive to make our payment plans as easy and affordable as possible for our patients. We will verify your insurance and let you know how much it will be expected to cover. Most orthodontic insurance plans pay 40-60% of the total orthodontic fee and have a lifetime maximum for each individual. This lifetime max typically ranges from $1000-$2500, although some offer more or less benefit.

For example, if your plan pays 50% up to $2000 and your orthodontic treatment costs $3500, your insurance would pay 50% ($1750) and you would be responsible for $1750. However, if your total treatment cost is $5000, your insurance will not pay the entire 50% because 50% ($2500) is more than the $2000 lifetime max. In this scenario, the insurance would pay $2000 and the patient would be responsible for $3000.

There are also a number of discount plans, such as Careington, that can help tremendously if you do not have traditional orthodontic coverage.
